![]() Anna-Alisa Belous (costume designer) Anna-Alisa Belous is native to St. Petersburg, Russia where she completed her M.F.A. in Textile Design from Art and Design Academy. In 1991, she relocated to the U.S. and worked in the Seattle area as a hair-dresser, wig maker for theater, costumer, and scenic painter. In 2001, Anna-Alisa completed her M.F.A. in Costume Design from Brandies University. She then moved to NYC, where she works as a costume designer in dance, theater, and film. This is Anna-Alisa’s fourth season with Notes in Motion and she hopes to continue working with them in the future. ![]() Noël Carmichael (stage manager) Noël Carmichael has stage managed shows and events for League of Prof. Theatre Women, Lincoln Center, The New York City Gay Men’s Choir, American Place Theatre, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Theater for the New City, King’s Theatre Company, Queens Theatre in the Park, Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, the Araneta Coliseum, Manila, and Leftfield Productions. As a Director/Choreographer, her credits include Living Openly and Notoriously (McGinn/Cazale), The Sexless Years (Duplex, Ars Nova ), Songs For A New World (HJT) , Sideshow (Cape Rep), Tibet Through the Red Box (East Coast Premiere) and Frankenstein-the Rock Musical (Ontario). Noël is a member of SSDC, and AEA. ![]() Grace Eichinger (dancer) Grace Eichinger is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and The Boston Conservatory. While in New York she has performed with Human Kinetics Movement Theater and Colin Huggins and Friends. She is also a scholarship student with Jennifer Muller/The Works. This is her third season with Notes in Motion. ![]() Amanda Keith (dancer) Amanda Keith received her B.A. in dance and business from DeSales University. She has performed with Earl Mosley/Diversity of Dance, Jessy Smith's POW, and Amanda Drozer Dance in NYC venues including: the DUMBO Dance Festival, Joe's Pub/DancemOpolitan, DNA, Movement Research and SWEATOutdoors. This is her second season with Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre. ![]() Emi Komatsuzaki (dancer) Emi Komatsuzaki has performed in the Chinese New Year Global Gala 2006 (performed in 13 cities including at Radio City Music Hall); the Elan Awards; 92nd Street Y; and Empty Sky and The Rising (a tribute to the victims of 9/11) at the Two River Theater, Red Bank, NJ. She also works with Parijat Desai Dance Company and has performed with them at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. This is her second season with Notes in Motion. ![]() Jeremy Kumin (lighting designer) Jeremy Kumin has designed the lighting for plays, musicals, opera, dance, video, fashion shows, and world-class special events. He designed the national tour of American Dreams: Lost and Found for The Acting Company's 30th Season. He has collaborated with Notes in Motion since 2003 on SHIFT, Unframed, Tilt, and Disturbance. Jeremy has a diverse background in Dance Lighting, ranging from the Laura Dean Dancers and Musicians (since 1996) to several seasons with Carlota Santana Spanish Dance Company, to the 2004 Spring Faculty Dance Concert at Muhlenberg College. He spent two years with the American Indian Dance Theatre and one season with Nai Ni Chen Dancers as Lighting Supervisor. Musical acts Jeremy has lit include Folk-Rock legend Al Stewart (Bottom Line and Grace Cathedral), Jonatha Brooke (Public Theatre), Dave's True Story (45 Bleecker) and many others. He designs special events through his production company Tri-Luminary, Inc. ![]() Natalie L'Etoile (dancer/assistant to the director/teaching artist) Natalie received her BFA in modern dance from the University of Utah. As a student, she earned the Orchesis Performance Award in 1993 and was a member of Performing Dance Company in 1994. Natalie was a company dancer, instructor, and choreographer at Alaska Dance Theatre from 1995 to 1999 and an adjunct faculty member of the University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Theatre and Dance from 1996 to 1999. While in Anchorage, Natalie performed with the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, in Aida and Carmen with Anchorage Opera, and in "Expanding the Stage" at UAA. In New York, Natalie has performed with Susan Joy Share, Bass River Dance Project at WAX, Built on Stilts on Martha's Vineyard, in Jennifer Muller/The Works "Hatch" Series, and at Broome Corner Studio. Natalie is a founding member of Notes in Motion. ![]() Nina Madsen (dancer/teaching artist) Nina Madsen graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.F.A. in dance choreography and performance in May of 2005. She studied at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, Western Australia where she performed at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts. She also studied at Teaterrikorkeakoulu, the Theater Academy of Finland in Helsinki, Finland. She received her Certificate of Movement Analysis from the Laban/Bartinieff Institute of Movement Studies in May of 2006. Nina was a member of the John Gamble Dance Theater and has performed the works of B.J. Sullivan, Andrea Woods, Eleanor Smith, Michal Zacut, and Tina Vasquez. Performance credits include ACDFA’s Gala concert, ADF, Makor/Steinhardt Center of the 92nd Street Y, and LIMS Mosaics. ![]() Hannah Seidel (dancer/teaching artist) Hannah Seidel studied dance at Interlochen Arts Academy in her home state of Michigan. She received her BA from Pomona College, and has since danced on the East Coast with Gina Gibney Dance, the Erica Essner Performance Co-op, Pi Dance Theatre, Chris Ferris, Nee Danse Company, From the Horseʼs Mouth, and both the Notes In Motion Company and Education Ensemble. She has taught and created dances on both coasts and has spent five summers on the modern dance faculty at Interlochen. ![]() Amanda Selwyn (artistic director/choreographer) Amanda Selwyn has a Masters from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in performance studies and a B.S. from Northwestern University in theatre. She founded Notes in Motion in 2000 to develop her own choreography within a creative community. In Notes in Motion’s eight seasons, she has directed fourteen productions, led the company workshop, and developed a network of artists. She developed the curriculum for Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theatre’s education programs in collaboration with other company artists. Amanda’s choreographic works include Hearsay, Interiors, Disturbance, Salut, Tilt, Tidal, Shift, Siren, Contradicting Unity, Save My Spot, Hold On, Momentum, and Behind Us. In addition to her choreographic work, Amanda has directed theatre at John Houseman Studio, 30th Street Theatre, Grove Street Theatre, Kraine Theatre, Center Stage, and the Producer’s Club. She has choreographed dance for Chicago's Motivity, a collective of modern choreographers; for theatre productions including House on Mango Street, Free to be You an Me, Once Upon a Mattress, The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory; and for her original theatre productions which include Herland, Yellow Feather, and Slitting the Clouds. Amanda teaches dance and theatre to New York City children and has been on faculty at independent schools including The Brearley School, Brooklyn Friends School, Beit Rabban School, Solomon Schechter School, and the New Acting Company. In addition, she has taught dance composition and technique at the Berkshire Institute for Music and Art. Amanda taught dance and theatre in Israel at the Israel Museum, English Village, and the Arad Community Center. Amanda led a workshop at the 2007 Face to Face arts-in-education conference. She presented her choreography at NYU’s Women and Theater conference in 2003. She is the recipient of 2 grants from the Illinois Arts Council for the development of new works and a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Community Arts Fund. ![]() Pamela Victor (dancer) Pamela Victor graduated with a B.A. in dance from DeSales University in Pennsylvania under the direction of Vincent Brousseau. Before moving back to her hometown of New York, Pamela began her professional career performing with a modern dance company in Philadelphia. She then continued her training with Jennifer Muller/The Works while performing with several modern dance and aerial companies in the New York area. Currently, Pamela works as a personal trainer as she continues her dance career with Notes in Motion and Airelise. ![]() Alicia Wargo (scenic designer) Alicia Wargo is a visual artist who works primarily in the mediums of drawing and site-specific installation. Her exhibitions include PS 122 Gallery, NY, NY, 31 Grand, Brooklyn, NY, SOIL Gallery, Seattle, WA, Zimmerli Art Museum, New Brunswick, NJ, and the University of Connecticut at Stamford Gallery. She has been the recipient of an ALJIRA EMERGE fellowship, a Jerome Foundation Grant, and an Emerging Artist Grant from Pilchuck Glass School. Her recent shows include a group drawing exhibition at Plane Space Gallery, NY and a solo show at Washington State University. ![]() Joel Wilhelmi (sound designer) Joel Wilhelmi was assistant sound designer for Stephen Sondheim’s Bounce, performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Joel is the resident sound designer/engineer at the new Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. His design credits include Snapshot, India Dreaming, Motel Blues, The Heiress, Low Life, Three Women in Indecision, and Bogusnova.. He was sound engineer for many theatre productions including The Listener, Bridge & Tunnel, Dream A Little Dream, Fucking A, Something Old Something New, Blue Surge, Good Thing, The Castle, Evolution, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and for films including Palmetto, Madison, Lawn Dogs, People Like Us, The Last Late Night, This Train, Winner Takes All, and My Father’s House. ![]() Deseree Wiltshire (dancer) Deseree Wiltshire is a dancer/choreographer originally from Miami. She earned her B.A. in dance and psychology from Adelphi University in 2004. She performed in all Dance Adelphi Company performances from 2000 until 2004. In her senior year, she was the only senior given the opportunity to present her choreographic work on stage. She has also presented her work at The American Dance College Festival. She has trained with and performed for Frank Augustyn, Leda Merideth, Sharon Wong, Alexandre Proia, Danny Grossman, and many others. This is her second season with Notes in Motion. ![]() Michelle Zwirz (dancer) Michelle Zwirz graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in May 2002. Michelle’s choreography was performed at the American College Dance Festival and awarded the Turner Choreography Award. After graduation, Michelle began teaching and choreographing at Penn State Abington. She also was a guest choreographer at the Freehold Regional Fine and Performing Arts enter. Michelle is currently living in NY and working as an Event Planner. This is Michelle’s fourth year with Notes in Motion. |
