President With over 20 years of business experience, primarily in technology dealing with financial applications, Jeptha is currently a Vice President with JPMorganChase in the Technology Controls Office. He has also worked for the US Navy, Bankers Trust & Viacom. He received a BA in Economics from New York University upon his discharge from 6 years of active service with the Pacific Fleet. By joining the Notes in Motion board he has rekindled a previous passion in the technical theater arts, that he pursued as a younger man. And he hopes to instill that passion in others going forward. He is an active participant in the production side of Notes in Motion's programs. Renee Jarusinsky Vice President Renee L. Jarusinsky, hailing from Stratford, CT, studied dance from the age of 5 through high school. Ms. Jarusinsky continued her dance studies in the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, State University of New York, and at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. After a year in the dance program at Purchase, Ms. Jarusinsky decided to change course (literally), and ultimately graduated cum laude from Purchase with a B.A. in political science. She went on to Fordham University School of Law and received her J.D. in 2000. She went on to Fordham University School of Law and received her J.D. in 2000, and has been practicing law in New York City ever since. Deborah Jackson Director Deborah Jackson has a love for arts, entertainment and culture, and has worked in these fields but not specifically in dance, which she admires as a form of expression. She has been a senior executive in private and publicly traded national and international firms in industries such as fashion, creative production/advertising, home décor, and consumer goods. She has to her credit startups, improvements, turnarounds, and new product launches for multi-million and multi-billion dollar firms spanning retail, wholesale, catalog, manufacturing, and services. Her education (B.S. - Management, Bryant College; MBA - Corporate Finance/Entrepreneurship, Babson College) and experience make her a helpful strategic advisor. Currently she is CFO/COO for Art + Fashion Group, running a group of businesses including the world’s largest and most prominent photography studio which hosts elite magazine covers, fashion designer campaigns, album covers, and celebrity press. Formerly she co-founded and operated a premium retailer of home furnishings and fashion accessories—all artisan made from various cultures. Products ranged from rare sculptures to modern art, retailed in catalogs, online, museum shops, and stores in Boston, New York, and Chicago. She authored the business plan, launched all operations, and raised over $70 million in financing. Yana Rolnik Director Yana Rolnik was born in Ukraine and moved to the U.S. when she was 20. She graduated from NYU with BA in Computer Science and Mathematics. She currently working as a technical lead for 2 projects in Private Banking department of JPMorganChase. She was studying different types of dancing for over 10 years while in school and college and has Full Bronze level at American Style Ballroom Dancing. Even though she doesn't dance anymore, dance is still one of her passions, so helping non profit dancing company is a way for her to stay involved with creative world of dance. Yana is also dreaming to become an art historian someday and is taking art history classes. Judith E. Selwyn Director Dr. Judith E. Selwyn is a nationally known expert in the conservation of historic building materials. As President of Preservation Technology Associates, Inc. she has overseen the restoration of historic masonry for structures at Harvard, Yale, Wellesley College, Smith College, the U.S. Naval Academy and MIT. Her other projects include the Massachusetts State House, the Gardner Museum and Fanueil Hall, in Boston. Dr. Selwyn is a collector of American Arts and Crafts furniture and pottery. She resides in Chestnut Hill, MA with her husband, Lee. Judy is the mother of Mark, Jeremy and Amanda, and the grandmother of Robbie and Alex. Amanda Selwyn Artistic Director Amanda Selwyn has a Masters from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in performance studies and a B.S. from Northwestern University in theatre. She founded Notes in Motion in 2000 to develop her own choreography within a creative community. In Notes in Motion’s eight seasons, she has directed fourteen productions, led the company workshop, and developed a network of artists. She developed the curriculum for Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theatre’s education programs in collaboration with other company artists. Amanda’s choreographic works include Hearsay, Interiors, Disturbance, Salut, Tilt, Tidal, Shift, Siren, Contradicting Unity, Save My Spot, Hold On, Momentum, and Behind Us. In addition to her choreographic work, Amanda has directed theatre at John Houseman Studio, 30th Street Theatre, Grove Street Theatre, Kraine Theatre, Center Stage, and the Producer’s Club. She has choreographed dance for Chicago's Motivity, a collective of modern choreographers; for theatre productions including House on Mango Street, Free to be You an Me, Once Upon a Mattress, The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory; and for her original theatre productions which include Herland, Yellow Feather, and Slitting the Clouds. Amanda teaches dance and theatre to New York City children and has been on faculty at independent schools including The Brearley School, Brooklyn Friends School, Beit Rabban School, Solomon Schechter School, and the New Acting Company. In addition, she has taught dance composition and technique at the Berkshire Institute for Music and Art. Amanda taught dance and theatre in Israel at the Israel Museum, English Village, and the Arad Community Center. Amanda was lead a workshop at the 2007 Face to Face arts-in-education conference. She presented her choreography at NYU’s Women and Theater conference in 2003. She is the recipient of 2 grants from the Illinois Arts Council for the development of new works and a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Community Arts Fund. |
